About Top Life Live
Top Life Live began in 2021 when founder Clara Morgan, then a community radio producer, noticed that useful ideas were often trapped between academic papers and hurried headlines. She wanted a place where a repair technician, a cook, a scientist and a walker could be taken seriously without becoming difficult to read.
Our mission is to make everyday knowledge more generous. We look for the history behind familiar problems, explain important terms plainly, and leave room for uncertainty. We are not a breaking-news desk. We are interested in the slower question: what does this idea change in a real person’s week?
Our goals
- Publish accurate, humane essays across disciplines.
- Connect global challenges with practical local action.
- Credit lived experience as well as formal expertise.
- Keep the website accessible, independent and calm.
The small team
Clara Morgan is editor and founder. Jon Bell, technology writer, tests claims with uncomfortable questions. Mara Ellis, field editor, reports on cities, food and travel. Priya Shah handles fact-checking and accessibility. Our illustrators and contributors join project by project.
A few numbers
Since launch, we have published 184 essays, worked with 67 independent contributors, and hosted 23 free community workshops. Readers from 41 countries visit the archive, but our strongest conversations still happen in libraries, kitchens and neighbourhood walks. Those modest meetings are the achievement we value most.
We make mistakes and correct them visibly. If a story leaves out a perspective or gets a detail wrong, please tell us. A living publication should be able to listen.
